THE BOSTON HOME HAS BEEN SELECTED TO RECEIVE A GRANT OF $100,000 THROUGH CUMMINGS FOUNDATION’S $100K FOR 100 PROGRAM

The Boston Home has been selected to receive a grant of $100,000 through Cummings Foundation’s $100K for 100 program. The Boston Home was chosen from more than 600 applicants. The Cummings grant will support The Boston Home’s Wheelchair Enhancement Center which was established in 2010. The services for residents, outpatients, and individuals living in the community include: wheelchair assessment; repair, customized adaptations for the mounting of communication devices, and creative solutions to support comfort, safe mobility and personal independence for the users. These services are not available elsewhere in Eastern Massachusetts.  “We are thankful to the Cummings Foundation for their support of our Wheelchair Enhancement Center,” said Marva Serotkin, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Boston Home. “This grant will support and enhance our ability to help more people who rely on power wheelchairs so they can live as independently as possible.”  The Cummings Foundation grant will be paid over four years. The complete list of 100 grant winners is available at www.CummingsFoundation.org.
